Management within Genisys have specific responsibility for policy development, coordination and evaluation of performance. The environmental policy will be maintained and upheld by the management team to meet our commitment. Environmental aspects of our processes and activities are managed in order to protect the health and safety of employees, customers and the public whilst contributing to the future well being of the environment.

Genisys provides the necessary training and support to all employees to ensure they understand and are able to fulfil the relevant aspects of the policy in their day-to-day work. Genisys is committed to minimising the impact of all operations on the environment by means of a programme of continual improvement.

With our committment towards sustainable environmental improvement, Genisys offers a range of "Green Computing" solutions that help organisations lower their carbon footprint. Our initiatives dont stop there: we implement these technical solutions in-house and have a number of initiatives in place that use IT to reduce avoidable demands on the environment while continuing to meet the demands of our users and our business.


Our Approach

Genisys' IT infrastructure uses a complementary mix of technologies from leading IT suppliers including IBM, Citrix, Microsoft and VMware to reduce power consumption and space. As an example, thin client devices consume less power compared to desktop PC's; virtualisation technologies enable us to maximise the performance of servers, reducing the hardware and energy required; and by choosing the latest hardware wherever possible, such as Blade servers, we benefit from more efficient processing while using less energy and consuming less space.


Our Mobile Workforce

Green Computing isn’t just about the choice over one more efficient technology over another; it’s about how we use the technology. At Genisys, we have invested in mobile working solutions for staff that spend a lot of time out of the office. Each of our consultants, engineers and members of the sales team are equipped with the technical resources they need to access core applications while they are on the move. This not only saves time and helps us to deliver an improved quality of service to our customers; it reduces unnecessary travelling time to and from the office and pollution. To make further energy savings, we have successfully implemented a home-working scheme.
